The goals of the sowing seeds for justice dinner
- To send a powerful message across the state that farmworkers and their campaign for justice is growing in strength and support.
- To develop support for Rural & Migrant Ministry and the Greater New York Labor Religion Coalition as they support the empowerment of farmworkers
- To raise the consciousness of the general public and develop new allies in support of farmworker justice.
Proceeds will be shared by Greater New York Labor-Religion Coalition and Rural & Migrant Ministry, Inc.
Greater New York Labor-Religion Coalition is an interfaith alliance of Jews, Christians, Muslims, and people of other faith traditions working with local trade unions to advocate for workers rights and economic justice. The coalition promotes living wage jobs, the right of workers to organize and form a union, and fights sweatshop and child labor.
Rural & Migrant Ministry, Inc. works for the creation of a just rural New York State by nurturing leadership; standing with the disenfranchised, especially farmworkers and rural workers; and changing unjust systems and structures.

The rows of trees stand in solidarity like Egyptian columns whose capitals fan open like lotus flowers reaching for the sky. The foreboding colonnade of the trees forms a curtain that unfolds to the sunlight vista beyond. It calls to mind a Lenten image with the promise of Easter about to break open its light of hope. Contemplative in nature, this landscape kindles a sense of sacred space shared with the artist to whom these places symbolize an innocence of childhood memory. The landscape also alludes to Sanderson gift at reaching the right balance of exposure and film development, such to create a sense of glory in the array of trees, but also to breathe life in the viewer the emotional equivalent the artist experienced.Sanderson has exhibited her photographs widely both in the US and abroad.
