Bio

Harriet Sandmeier served as the Chief Ecclesiastical Officer (Stated Clerk) of the Presbytery of the Hudson River, and is now commissioned to the Presbytery as Commissioned Elder for Preaching and Teaching. She is a regular preacher at churches throughout the Hudson Valley, and has served as consultant/teacher throughout the PCUSA denomination, including serving one term as the President of the National Association of Stated Clerks.

In her “other life,” Harriet served as CEO of two not-for-profit health and mental health agencies, and as a senior administrator in two educational settings. She is a graduate of Barnard College, Ohio University and the University of Michigan. She also holds a Certificate in Theology and Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary.

Married to (retired Swiss chef) Max Sandmeier, the couple have three children and five grandchildren. They reside in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
