Bio
Jennifer is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Long Island University, Post (LIU Post). She received her PhD in Sociology at UC Santa Barbara in 2008. After completing her PhD, she was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Center for Nanotechnology in Society at UC Santa Barbara. Her research today focuses on the relationships between food, technology, gender, and resistance in Latin America and the United States. At LIU Post, she teaches courses on Food & Society, Environmental Sociology, Globalization, and Feminism. She is also on the Board of Directors for Puente a la Salud Comunitaria.
