Bio

Madeline Lee’s consulting services include individual attention in a variety of disciplines critical to successful non-profit activity, including program development and planning; meeting planning and facilitation; writing and editing; search processes; and individual coaching.

The work is grounded in her experience from 1978 to 2003 as the CEO of the New York Foundation, one of the country's oldest foundations. Under her direction, the Foundation developed an extensive program of technical assistance focused on ensuring the continuity and competitiveness of its grantees, and on increasing the impact of their work by encouraging advocacy and coalition building. She was a founding Board member of the New York Regional Association of Grantmakers, and has served on the Boards of the New York Regional Association of Grantmakers, the New Israel Fund, and Community Impact (Columbia University). She currently serves on the Board and Executive Committee and co-chairs the development committee of the Washington-based Center for Community Change.

Ms. Lee has received awards from the Jewish Fund for Justice, Women in Development, Common Ground Community, Green Guerrillas, the Institute for Senior Action, and the Urban Justice Center.
